pracital approach
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the tasks relating to the management of information during various delivery stages of project, when using building information modelling, as defined within standards such as ISO 19650 and ISO 12006
learner outcomes
Even though key document control activities appear similar across various role-players, there can still be striking differences in certain areas. Think about the differences in perspectives and requirements from an architect and an engineer, or the different needs related to asset management and sustainability.
The learner will understand why collaboration is key to BIM. Managing data and information creates wealth opportunities that you will finally understand how to realise the benefits. The learner will recognise the value of people skills. Project delivery will become clarified, as well as Classification of Information. The BIM plan is the new blue-print and you will recogise and learn its value.
Course overview
This course presents many topics that form the first “go-to” principles for the best management of information, including the document lifecycle, document and data control process, data governance and industry challenges. We will also provide practical advice on a number of topics based on case studies and vendor-specific common data environment software.
